Enter the Easter Mystery through a historical look at the custom of Polish egg decorating. Watch a demonstration and practice decorating your own eggs. Please bring a half dozen hard boiled eggs.

Sister Mary Margaret Delaski, FSE, has always been very proud of her Polish heritage. Her parents included many of the beloved traditions in daily life, especially those involving food. Their parish, Holy Family Catholic Church in Ashland, WI was known as the “Polish Parish,” thus the rich hymnody, especially the Polish Kolendy (Christmas Carols) of this culture was an in important part of worship and family life. In a similar way, the symbols used to decorate eggs at Easter carried a faith message to all.
