Mental Health Professional

Your opportunity 

As a mental health professional at the Franciscan Life Process Center, you will provide counseling services based on an unwavering belief in the potential for growth in each person, enhancing their ability to live healthy lives. Employing research-based methods, you’ll work in person with clients to address a wide variety of needs through individual, couple, family and group therapy sessions at either our beautiful rural campus in Lowell or our bustling urban campus in Grand Rapids.

You’ll bring your strong interpersonal skill set to create an atmosphere of empathy, creativity and understanding as you empower clients to release their whole potential. You will uphold the values of the Franciscan Sisters while providing therapeutic sessions, valuing and promoting the dignity of life.

Who you’ll serve 

  • Children ages 4 and older, adolescents, adults, couples and families

What you’ll do

  • Prepare for individual and group sessions with developed plans and materials
  • Provide in person individual, couple, family and group therapy at both campuses based on licensure
  • See 7 to 18 clients weekly depending on hours works, Monday through Friday
  • Stay current on a weekly basis with progress notes using EMR program
  • Maintain and manage a flexible schedule
  • Keep timely and appropriate records
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings, group supervision meetings and individual supervision
  • Meet monthly with Director of Counseling Program
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Director of the Counseling Program

How you’ll be evaluated 

  • Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Director of Counseling within three months of employment and then annually, one week before the anniversary of hire each year

Your qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in counseling or social work
  • Licensure as an LPC, LLP, LMFT or LMSW or working toward that under supervision as an LLMSW (full license preferred)
  • 1-3 years professional experience (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Collaborative skill set and ability to work with multiple team members
  • Willingness for flexible schedule and location between Lowell and Grand Rapids campuses
  • Understanding and alignment of the mission of the Franciscan Life Center Network

Who you will report to 

  • Director of Counseling

Your work schedule 

  • Part-time, 10-25 hours/week
  • Monday-Friday, choose your own hours
  • No weekends or on-call
  • In-person, Grand Rapids or Lowell, Michigan

What you’ll be compensated 

  • Salary: $22,500 – $45,000
