This is a comprehensive, mixed watermedia class that starts with painting your own, full spectrum, fade proof, collage papers on day one.  Unique techniques will be shared for stamp making, printing, mark-making, rubbings, layering, etc. to embellish your collage papers.  Special attention will be given to design and composition … that elusive element that elevates a painting from ordinary to award-winning.

Collage will be used as our finished art pieces, coupled with acrylic painting, and used in making a “concertina” (folded-pages sketch book embellished with collage and paint). Handouts, demonstrations, lectures, directed exercises, individual attention and quiet work time will enable each artist to apply the new information and techniques to their personal artwork.  Beginner, intermediate or advanced artist, this is an opportunity to push your creative boundaries, be exposed to new concepts, and hone your skills in design and composition.

Each morning I will demonstrate my working techniques to instruct and to jumpstart your creative energy.  As always, I will generously share my knowledge as a professional artist for 40 years, teacher, exhibition judge and gallery owner.  Let’s play, work hard, explore, have fun and call it “Art”.
