Stations of the Cross
The outdoor Stations of the Cross, located in a quiet, wooded area near the Center, was dedicated on June 28, 2015 and has added another place for prayer and reflection on the land.
When Mother Rita Brunner died on April 24, 2015, her brother made the request that a memorial dedicated to Mother Rita be placed on the the land to which she had given so much of her life since 1972. Since Mother Rita was especially known for her deep prayer life and closeness to Jesus, it seemed appropriate that the memorial would be in the form of the Outdoor Stations. The completion of this Way of the Cross was made possible through the generous donations of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, the Brunner Family, the staff of the Franciscan Life Process Center, the Franciscan Apprentices, Eagle Scout Alex Paiz and many friends.
As one of the founders of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist in 1973, Mother Rita was always interested in and loved the young Sisters who would eventually take her place and on which the future of the Community depended. Starting with the Final Vows of Sister Sophia Peters, FSE, and Sister Angela Marie Castellani, FSE on December 28, 2014, each Sister who makes her Final Vows in the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist community will have her name on one of the Stations as an invitation to all who pray the Stations to pray for that Sister.
Visitors are welcome to stop by from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday or by appointment at other times.
A booklet that can be used for praying the Stations is available upon request.
